Leadership Team 2012
Leadership Team is composed of 16 students who focus on the logistics, running, and planning of camp. This team consists of 8 positions with 2 partner pairs in each position. Directors, Development Chairs, Counselor Chairs, Ministry Chairs, Public Relations Chairs, Finance Chairs, and Registration, Recreation Chairs & Media Chairs. Each chair has their focus, but all together Leadership works as one body, all with the common passion of bringing Christ to incoming Red Raiders through Foundation!

Caroline Weir: Director
I’m a sophomore from Ruston, Louisiana double-majoring in Political Science and French. I read roughly 12 blogs a day, but I have about 50 bookmarked. I am fascinated by glitter, the Electoral College, and Texas state pride. I live in pure grace. Foundation was one of the main reasons I chose to come to Texas Tech, and it was an absolute blast! Whether you enjoy reading blogs, playing sports, or watching SNL, Foundation was made with you in mind! New Texas Tech students, brace yourself for the best year of your life!
Adam Hernandez: Director
Hello my name is Adam Hernandez and I am your 2012 Camp Director! I'm a junior from Keller, Texas. I'm an advertising major on paper, but I'm just passionate about being creative. Sometimes I think God has equipped me to be good at my major but it's so much more encouraging to be able to use my gifts toward something like Foundation! I love the sport of baseball to no end and beyond that, I adore the Texas Rangers (yes, even after Game 6). Sure, I love a great night at the ballpark or a chance to write a commercial. But these things are petty interests when I think about how much I love my Lord and how much He adores me!

Matt Langhoff: Media Chair
I’m a Junior from Midland, Texas majoring in University Studies and Business. My favorite colors are green and blue, and I really enjoy photography and am a huge nerd when it comes to computers and videos! Although I enjoy just hanging out in the company of good friends and being random, from skydiving to hotel pool swimming. I’m overly excited about most everything and try to be funny although just make a goof of myself more often. To me, Foundation is a place of just growth. Even when that growth comes after a serious breakthrough a personal wall. Even better you are surrounded by hundreds of fellow Christians who are there for the same reason you are…Praise God in everything.
“The Lord you God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing” Zephaniah 3:17
Melanie Watson: Media Chair
Hey everyone, I am Melanie Watson! I am one of the two Media Chairs for Foundation 2012. This is a new chair and I am super excited to see what my partner Matt and I can make of it! I am an active member in a Greek sorority and serve on the Media Team at my church. I am pursuing a degree in Electronic Media and Communications. I greatly enjoy photography, photoshop, lightroom, computers and many different sports. It is exciting to see, not only how God is going to use Foundation to impact lives on Texas Tech’s Campus, but also to see how God is going to use Foundation and other staff members to develop my own walk. I am excited for the adventure! God is good and don’t forget to always shine bright! (Matt.5:16) :)

Aaron Villarreal: Public Relations
I’m a junior from San Antonio Texas studying Theatre Arts/ Human Development and Family Studies. I’m obsessed with a’capella groups; I tweet too much, and primarily hang out at McAllister’s (basically I just love to eat). I also enjoy spontaneous road trips and the company of Cameron Jones (see Rec Chair). My favorite thing about Foundation is seeing the unity that comes from being in the same room as hundreds of gospel-minded Christ followers. Foundation changed my life as a transfer student and I pray it changes yours as well!!
“Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart.”-1 Peter 1:22
Heather Wright: Public Relations
I’m a sophomore from Wylie, Texas studying Human Development and Family Studies. I’m obsessed with the color BLUE! I basically just love people and I like to stay really busy. I am in a Greek sorority and I absolutely love it! I also enjoy a nice cup of Hot Tea and Dark Chocolate. I love to Two-Step and I depend heavily upon my planner.
To me Foundation was a place of healing and a place to start over. I love that fact that it gives you the opportunity to get plugged into a wonderful community that doesn’t just end at camp. I am so excited to see what the Lord is going to do through camp this year. See you in August!!
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”- John 14:27

I hope to continue building on this again this upcoming year. As Ministry chair I'm excited to see the continued impact of CHOP, and the impact service has on the community. I have a huge heart for missions, and I'm also a member of the Texas Tech ultimate frisbee team. BOOM!!!! I LOVE FOUNDATION!! Can't wait to see what God is going to do at camp again this year!!

Josh Aguas: Counselor Chair
"Hello everybody! I would like to think of myself as an enjoyable person. For instance, here are a few fun facts about me. Or a few stories! Once I got 5 tickets on the same night. I am still sort of scared of the police people. I enjoy hammocking, rock climbing, and thriting for treasures. A few friends and myself are actually thinking of making a mock documentary about 'urban hammocking.' I'll be sure to let you know all about it.
But on a serious note:
Twelve months ago, I was so far from the Lord. God has redeemed me when I was a complete mess and wrapped up in sin. I am a sinner who owes millions to my Savior. I am in so much debt to Christ! What a blessing indeed! I would be happy to tell you the entire thing if you ask me about it! God has set me free from shame and doubt. Ask. I dare you!
He has blessed me and continues to bless me- pressed down, shaken together, and running over. He fills my cup until it is overflowing. I am excited to be part of leadership for Foundation 2012. If God is for us, who can be against us?! GO GO GO.
Kiva Carson: Counselor Chair
Hey Guys! I'm Kiva Carson. I'm an Early Childhood Education major at Tech. I'm obsessed with anything involving fun. My favorite thing in the world to do is going to the lake. I love Jesus, my family, friends and, of course, FOUNDATION! I know you will too!

Ryan Dykes: Finance Chair
Hey everybody, My name is Ryan Dykes I'm a sophomore and I LOVE Foundation. God has done some incredible things in my life through this ministry and I couldn't be more excited to help lead it. I love being active and most of the time you can find me in a weight room or skiing down a mountain. Being a big kid is my specialty and I will always be down to have fun.
